Reconciling with Joy

Joy – A state of mind an orientation of the heart, it is a settled state of contentment and hope.

In Galatians 5:22 – “… the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long‐suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self‐control…”

First there is love and second joy, yes without joy we can’t reach the other fruits of spirit.

Love exists with me all my life, how I see people, the world that surrounds me, even in the worst of days. An abundance of love it hurts when it’s held back for any reason.

Joy however is not automatic, so today I reconciled with Joy, I am asking for it, John 15:16 – “YOU did not choose me, but I chose YOU, and I appointed YOU to go on and keep
bearing fruit and that YOUR fruit should remain; in order that no matter what YOU ask the Father in my name he might give it to YOU.”

Joy isn’t a smile or a laugh, it is deep within us and doesn’t escape quickly. In order to be a counselor of peace in any relationship I must have joy.

So here is my reconciliation…

Joy cradled in my hearts crevices
Waiting to be called.
Come out to me
Embrace the love already here.
Let me not steal you from others
May my words and deeds
Be as water for the thirsty
And food for the hungry
Joy you peak through
As a child hiding
When I smile

Show yourself
Hear the softness of my voice
Come out and see
Without you my love is in vain
Its time for us to reconcile
It took me awhile

Dance with me in the rain
Walk with me in unknown paths
Climb with me up steep mountains
In the day be the light of peace
In the night be the bliss of hope

Hold my hand,,,
Together we will make it through
I already have enough love for me and you….

Angola

Angola, my ground, my space,
born to die I lived
only to be torn from you

My blood cries for your embrace
your song helped me breathe
in my mother’s womb

I lived to return to you
to share the words
God placed in me

No longer silent
The walls shatter to words and songs
I’ve kept in my room

Angola, I sing the love you gave to me even When war made us flee
Angola, I know you have waited for me

The Wind and Sun

The wind came calling
And in its breeze are words
Of salutations
Within its passage a soft caress
Touched my face

With this my breathe was lost
To breath again
Only by a kiss from the sun

With this, the radiated warmth
From the palpitations
Of my heart
Helped me fly where
The wind’s journey
Made the start
Near the sun that warmed
My heart
