Wandering Love

Wandering in the depths of my mind

The inclination to try to comprehend

The life line that keeps me going

 The reasoning why my existence

Is a different one

Than my contemporaries

A highway of emotions that always

Leads to one place

In my dreams

A water side haven

 Where the movement and sound

Of the rush of water

Just calm me down

Yet I dance on hollow ground

As if there is no such thing as time

Free as the wind I spin

As a record with that favorite song

Wandering through the spaces

Of life

Meeting faces

For in a moment I give

A bit of kindness

So they may carry on

A piece of me

to other places

Where love needs to be

Drifting

She chiseled her feelings on stone
For there no one could shake
her foundation
Only the waves can soothe the surface just enough
To glimpse the inner workings
of her mind
only the sea could taste
The salt of her tears
To be different wasn’t a choice
But was all she knew
And so dawn sang her a lullaby
So she could sleep and
Stop carving thoughts in her heart
As the mist surrounded
her every step
For only she knew what it felt
to walk on clouds
Even when still drifting on
This earth’s chaotic sand…
