Laying here on an unknown dirt road
Fingers cold
A blanket between me
And residue of Lava flow
Stare up at the expanse above me
Every star in a trance
For tonight there is a show
So the lights from the north
Start to dance
Filling the entire sky
No reason to ask why
This night
To observe this sight
A gift of the
Northern Lights
For my eyes alone
A song plays in my mind
For every transitions of the light
“Lets just die here,” I say
How can there be more
But there is
I feel it in every inch of my soul
When Earth itself has given you
Its beauty
Every particle a word of love
All you can feel is thankful
For this makes sense
Captured with my eyes
Filled deep in my heart
Awe and wonder
These lights from the north
Have given me
Strength to set forth…
